Public Comment is open for the Proposed 2023 Mathematics Standards of Learning. Stakeholders may attend in person, virtually, or just submit written feedback electronically. All methods of delivery are detailed below.

In-Person Public Hearings on the Proposed 2023 Mathematics Standards of Learning

Each in-person public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. Registration of speakers will begin at 6:00 p.m. Speakers will have three minutes to speak and are asked to provide copies of their comments for the Board of Education. The public hearings will be held at the following locations:   

1. July 27, 2023 - Fredericksburg 

Germanna Community College, Fredericksburg Area Campus, V. Earl Dickinson Building (SP1), 10000 Germanna Point Drive, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408 (Room #212) 

2. July 31, 2023 - Hampton

Peninsula Virginia Community College, 600 Butler Farm Road, Suite A, Hampton, Virginia 23666 (Conference Center Room #1301)

3. August 8, 2023 - Winchester

Laurel Ridge Community College, Middletown Campus, Corron Community Development Center, 173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA 22645 (The Carl and Emily Thompson Conference Center)

4. August 10, 2023 - Abingdon (REVISED DATE)

Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, One Partnership Circle, Abingdon, Virginia 24212 (Executive Auditorium, Room #134)

Virtual Public Hearings on the Proposed 2023 Mathematics Standards of Learning

Pre-registration will be required for virtual public hearings. Registrants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the public hearing. Speakers will have three minutes to speak and are asked to submit copies of their comments electronically for the Board of Education. The virtual public hearings will be held on the following dates and times:

Public hearings, both in-person and virtual, are open to the public.

Electronic Public Comment Form

Written public comments regarding the proposed 2023 Mathematics Standards of Learning will be accepted through August 11, 2023, and may be submitted using the electronic public comment form. You may also submit public feedback by emailing vdoe.mathematics@doe.virginia.gov
